The cycle path that descends from Strassoldo and continues to the gates of Cervignano was built in 2008.
A few months later it was decided to expand the football field in the village of Muscoli (a hamlet of Cervignano del Friuli), all at the expense of the new cycle path.
Because of this, for many years, the cyclists who traveled the Alpe Adria Cycle Path at this point had to leave the cycle path and continue for a short distance on the lawn that is located between the football pitch and the bowling green.
Since that lawn, after the rains, became muddy, the administrators limited themselves to placing a sign at this point indicating to continue walking pushing the bikes.
Finally, during the winter just ended, a new stretch of cycle path was built on its own and asphalted, about 200 meters long, which solves this criticality.
The new section was opened for passage a few weeks ago and makes this part of the cycle path continuous again.
We would like to point out to the administrators of the public works that the sign indicating the obligation to "Hand bike" is no longer necessary and it would have been better to remove it rather than move it to the beginning of the new stretch of cycle path.
