In recent years, the renowned seaside resort of Lignano Sabbiadoro has equipped itself with a good network of cycle paths.
The tour of the Lignano peninsula is one of our favorite routes: it is suitable for everyone and runs mainly on cycle paths (if you go anticlockwise).
We started from the revolving bridge of the Conca di Bevazzana, continuing along the cycle path that runs parallel to the Tagliamento up to the mouth of the river (it is the final stretch of the Ciclovia del Tagliamento - FVG 6).
At the mouth it is also possible to board the Xboat ferry which takes you to the opposite bank of the Tagliamento.
We continued our ride on the cycle path that runs along the beach, arriving at the Terrazza a Mare and then at the Lignano Lighthouse.
After reaching the Darsena (where ferries leave for Marano Lagunare in the summer and the motor ship for Grado and Trieste) we continued on the beautiful cycle path that runs along the Marano Lagoon for a long stretch.
Finally we returned to the starting point pedaling along the generally quiet road that runs along the Litoranea Veneta canal.
Thanks to the mild climate, it is possible to ride on this track even in the winter season even if the best times are spring and autumn. Obviously, it can also be traveled in summer even if sometimes there are too many tourists who often walk carelessly on the cycle paths.
On our YouTube channel we have uploaded the video that tells this easy ride: https://youtu.be/3thb_5uFDew.
And if you are fascinated by the elegant and innovative spirele urban layout and the original architectures that characterize Lignano Pineta, we suggest you take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/3fFUoqwBGDs.
